The lone Star afghans were typical of that Southgate based company. Badly put together and most of them badly made but notwithstanding this they are great conversion material; for instance the kneeling firing could be cut and repositioned as standing firing. the couple of figures that I hate are the one throwing a rock and another who has a sword in the air and looks like he's been taken short. TIMPO ACW one of my all time favourite figures as a kid was the Timpo Acw firing a colt. I was sad or dismayed to see that a top ACW collector dismissed the Timpo ACW as rubbish compared to whats happening now; thats like confronting the lockheed with the sopwith=silly. apart from that if you buy the Timpo ACW you got great spare parts for hardly anything.

THE NEW BMC IRISH. these come in green. Why? For those that never paint their soldiers. I've always really admired BMC because they tried or try to put back the old style collection feeling that used to be when one was a kid. That said I can't understand why someone doesnt paint their soldiers; what a waste of a hobby.they have also brought out a new artillery set.
BOXER UPRISING AND MINIFIGS
I was looking for a new era something really out of the norm and after getting my M.M I saw the ad from Minifigs in southampton row down by Victoria station. I went and bought about 100 Minifigs Boxer uprising troops.I still have them never ever used. There were far more shops in those days dealing exclusively with soldiers.London is just chain shops now.
